Daybeds and Garden Swings are a very cost effective and popular addition to our Bali Hut range. They are rustic freestanding structures that don't take up a lot of space. They are the perfect addition for around your pool or in garden areas.

We have standard sizes available but true to our Brisbane Thatch & Decks nature, we will build any design, size or shape Balinese Hut Daybed you desire.

We stain our Daybeds a rich Ironbark but we can also stain the Daybed frames any other colour you would like. Natural alternatives would be Black, Teak or Red Cedar.

All the timber we use are CCA treated against weather and white ant attacks. This is a structure that will last a lifetime.

Daybeds

Our new range of garden swings is the perfect practical solution for the new small block properties and also next to pools or in garden focus areas. Just sit and relax with a cold drink and a good book in your own garden. We custom build our garden swing sofas to last for years 25 years.

Our Swing-chairs can also be fitted to an existing Bali Hut as an additional option.

We have standard sizes available but true to our Brisbane Thatch & Decks Nature we will build any design, size or shape Balinese Hut Swing Set or Pergola Style Swing Chair you desire.

We stain our swing-chairs a Rich Ironbark but we can also stain the Swing Chairs any other colour you like. Natural alternatives would be Black, Teak or Red Cedar.

As part of Brisbane Thatch & Decks comprehensive maintenance and repair service, we now offer Smart Thatch as an option.
Brisbane Thatch & Decks is now a distributor of Smart Thatch in South East Queensland. This new Synthetic thatch is a 100% waterproof alternative to Alang Alang Thatch.
​
The manufacturers claim the product will last for 50 years plus. Time testing has been ongoing for 25 years now and the Synthetic Thatch has only shown slight loss of colour in the full sun. This product indeed looks very impressive.
​
Clients that have had ongoing problems with birds and other wildlife calling their Bali hut home have switched to this product and report that their unwelcome guests have moved on. Smart Thatch also doesn't break down or malt so there is literally no cleaning up or debris to worry about.
​

Clients who have had traditional Cape Reed African tiles for an extensive period have welcomed the addition of this synthetic version and enjoy the fact that there is absolutely no debris or cleaning up to do. They also have discovered that wildlife including birds seem to show much less interest in the product.

The simple fact is some of the roofs sold by companies like Bunnings and Stratco you cannot walk on. You can have a party on our roofs. We will custom build your colorbond pergola to be very solid and strong. We'll paint the frame any colour you want but we personally love the look of a white or black frame.

Information - Koppers Log Posts

We at Brisbane Thatch and Decks strive to only use the best quality materials available to ensure the best quality products to our clients.
​
Koppers Logs last for 50 years plus in water and are by far the best timber post to use for our new Balinese Huts but Koppers Logs do suffer cracks from drying out too fast. Due to high demand, the posts are not left to dry out properly by the only supplier in Australia before being sold and distributed. It does not matter if you source the posts from Bunnings, Landscape suppliers or other Thatching Companies. If they use Koppers logs it is all supplied from the same distributor in South East Queensland.
​
As we all use the same posts, you will get exactly the same result even if other suppliers say that their posts will not crack. They will!
​
We generally supply Koppers Logs with our Balinese Huts, but if you want an alternative to we can supply you with Kwila/Merbau laminated posts. These need to be installed on galvanized metal brackets and cost considerably more, and in our opinion does not validate the rise in cost.
